Building Dwti would not have been possible without the encouragement and support of many different companies who have offered their time, expertise and resources. This is will be a growing and evolving list, but throughout our build, we are super grateful to:
Bluefix Energy Solutions – This small team of experts are leaders in designing, buildings and installing the most innovative Victron installations. I had exacting demands and some specific requirements for my build and Mark and Luke did not fail to deliver, with fantastic professionalism, attention to detail and a great sense of humour. I am happy to be one of their show trucks; my installation is a work of art.
WG Davies – Our local MAN dealership, who adopted us into their family. When we first drove Dwti home every warning light on the dashboard was flashing. I had great confidence in handing her over to the team at WG Davies to sort out all the problems. They even offered to wash Dwti before our first trip out to the Vanlife Festival 24, where we were a show truck, which we gladly took them up on.
Rose and Cadno – Where do you start with an empty habitation box and plenty of ideas? Rose and Cadno came recommended to us and Will and Callum to build out a lot of the key structural components. The water tanks needed to be secure, the bed frame custom made out of aluminium and welded in situ. We also needed custom shelving and a Howdens kitchen fitted with a lot of extra bracing. The guys were so precise and we now have an absolutely solid installation which is ideal for our pending off road adventures.
Motorcraft – The key component to any Overlander is the habitation box. Motorcraft boxes stood out to us as a leader. We gave them our old beat up chassis, and they returned to us a gleaming red truck. People are so impressed with the paint job and colour and intrigued by our torsion free mounting. Dwti doesn’t look her age any more! As Lyn works on the truck he is constantly blown away by the build.
Orkney Overlanders – If you have not heard of these legends, go and check them out! We waited 9 months to get Stuart and Charlotte to visit us at home to work on Dwti, the time scale is a testament to their success and popularity. Stuart spent over a week working on Dwti, designing and building some custom brackets and moving some of the components that were in the way on the chassis frame. At the same time they spent several evenings around our table, talking about everything Overlander and more.
And finally, a massive thank you to our super-talented daughter in law Hollie who designed our wicked logo!
